After Kelley's wild birthday night out in ep 8, Captain Lee lost patience with his attitude in ep 9, warning that if he saw Kelley not working once he would confine him to quarters for the rest of the charter. Kelley threatened to quit.

Kelley finished the season and later returned as bosun in Season 4.
